“Telemedicine Meets Translational Science: Use of Videoconferencing to Provide Exposure Therapy for PTSD in Occupations at Risk”
This one-hour webinar, hosted by the Northeast Telehealth Resource Center, will discuss the use of telemedicine to provide a novel translational prolonged exposure intervention for PTSD to occupations at risk, such as emergency workers, first responders, and military personnel. The talk will address human factors issues when conducting therapy using videoconferencing technology and patient safety considerations in using remote therapy. It will also discuss the development and implementation of a translational intervention trial conducted entirely remotely, including a video-conferenced medical clearance, double-blind randomized drug administration, genetic sampling, and remote consenting and data collection. The talk will also discuss progress and outcomes to date of this ongoing project.
