Instructions to Applicants
Thank you for your interest in our Residency Program in Geriatric Psychiatry. To apply to our program, please follow the steps outlined below:
- Visit our website http://www.cornellpsychiatry.org/education/geriatric.html ,where you can find information about the clinical, educational and research programs of the Cornell Institute of Geriatric Psychiatry, including a description of our Program.
- Please note that applicants should be eligible for a permanent New York State License.
- Download and complete the Fellowship Application (pdf file) from the above website.
- Write a one-two page essay discussing your reasons for seeking training in Geriatric Psychiatry and on your subsequent career plans. The mission of our Program is to provide training to motivated psychiatrists who are interested in either academic or clinical careers, or both.
- In addition to the fellowship application, please complete or obtain:
- A Curriculum Vitae including academic honors, awards, publications, presentations, research interests and projects
- Three letters of recommendation, including one from a physician familiar with your clinical work. Letters may accompany your application but should be in a sealed envelope with the recommender's signature written across the envelope flap. Letters may also be mailed directly from the recommender to us.
- Please submit letters from Directors of Training, certifying completion of internship and/or residency training, or your current standing in residency training with an anticipated graduation date.
- Please submit your entire application packet via e-mail or regular mail to:
